Zubiri to Pamplona

The stage of Zubiri to Pamplona of the Camino de Santiago leads us to the Navarra city following the river Arga. Pamplona is the first of the four major cities for which the pilgrim will pass before arriving in Santiago de Compostela.

There are not very pleasant kilometres between Zubiri and Larrasoaña, but soon they pass and we return to the roads between worked fields. The section between Larrasoaña and Pamplona, the capital of Navarra, is famous for its medieval bridges. We have already passed through the Bridge of the Bandits in Larrasoaña, but three others are missing, the one of Iturgaiz in Irotz, the bridge of the Trinity, where our path is linked to that which comes from the Baztan, and the bridge of the Magdalena, which gives access to Pamplona.

The entrance to the capital of the former Kingdom of Navarre is spectacular. We walk through the pit of its old walls and cross a bridge over the Portal of France and the Puerta de Zumalacárregui.
